MY PROJECTS
OFF THE MAT: TURNING RED MEI LEE
I love how this turned out- from her sparkling hair to the furry flock fur . Do you love the fur???
Details - 20 inch character in cardstock and using flock from Pink & Main; I mixed two different colors flock to get the right shade of orange.
OFF THE MAT: BRUNO FROM ENCANTO
Bruno, Bruno, Bruno … he’s done! I started him before the convention and finished after coming back … and so I was able to incorporate adhesive flock from @pinkandmain after seeing this at @namtaartmaterialsassociation in Florida. It’s a lot of fun to work with.
Special thanks to @thecraftyblock for the shredded tassels to add to his shirt. If you haven’t seen her Bruno, you need to see what she used for his flip flops! Still my favorite part ❤️❤️❤️.
Svg file is from @thesaltyyankee !!! As well as the other encanto characters ❤️❤️❤️.
Next up is the candle from encanto with the new lights I found from @chibitronics 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻…
OFF THE MAT: ISABELA FROM ENCANTO
I had soooo many cool details for Mirabel that I was worried Isabela would be a flop. And I had already done Frida with lots of flowers. But I love how she turned out … looking like so much more than just a flat cardstock project. (And different from Frida cause I was worried this would look like a Frida 2.0 version).
OFF THE MAT: MIRABEL FROM ENCANTO
It’s all in the details … I love the raised glasses… the htv flock for the black in the shirt … and any time you have an enclosed area like the black butterfly, you can easily get rid of the seams running through by cutting a piece of black cardstock to add over it. In the end, with a 48 inch character, she will have probably a total of .5 inches in seams that won’t be noticeable.
OFF THE MAT: TODDLER BELLE
Toddler Belle is 3 ft tall and pretty much seamless (only in the black areas will you find small seams). She has rolled flowers and lots of pretty glitter cardstock.
And there’s one more Belle coming … teenage Belle!!! Lol. 💙💙💙💙.
OFF THE MAT: CANARY - HUNTER X HUNTER
I’m in love with this character - all the colors and textures on this project 🥰❤️😍. We have foil, glitter, my skin tone cardstock…
Canary - 27 inches of beautiful cardstock 💜❤️💚.There are two colors from my soon-to-be-available cardstock selection (the face and lips). What do you think???
OFF THE MAT: DOC MCSTUFFINS
There’s so much love on this girl! She has 6 shades of my curated skin color cardstock collection. The hair, face, and lips are 3 shades and if you take a look at the bandage, there are another 3 shades there.
And the bandages wobble as well as rotate on the bag. Sooo much fun on this little doctor ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
OFF THE MAT: HARAJUKU GIRLS
Love love love this project! Both the design space tutorial and the assembly portion are available. I’m really trying to take these projects to another level with different materials, different moving parts, different ways to slice it up to add dimension and allow for bigger pieces to look seamless… so follow me for all the tips and tricks ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
OFF THE MAT: BEARLY ARTS “GLITTER BEAR”
Bearly Arts 30 inch glitter bear!!! It turned out 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. I know … it’s my unbiased, humble opinion 🤣😂😝😁😆.
Tips: Any enclosed area with a seam you can cut out a duplicate piece to cover. For example, the paw print - I cut another white paw print to put over that space to cover the seam.
OFF THE MAT: HELLO KITTY
I’m just playing around with Hello Kitty with different sizes and different ways to bling. What do you think?
Showing you all the steps on how I layer and cut the foam board ... and also how I do rhinestones (but this is definitely not my forte!!! lol)
Super easy to add a foam board - it will make the project sturdier and you can set against a table or wall to stand propped up ❤️❤️❤️.
OFF THE MAT: ALICE IN WONDERLAND 30”
Alice is 30 inches and pretty much seamless except for her blue skirt. I wanted to show you how I would approach it in 3 different ways.... I definitely have a favorite ... just curious if we agree which is best 😬🤪 Option 1: creating a deliberate seam. I think this would be better if I could actually design lol. So I changed the image from 2 pieces into 3 pieces. If I could design, I would have made it look more like a pleat (which is what I was going for lol).
3D LETTER AND NUMBER SHAKERS - TUTORIAL COLLECTION (DESIGN SPACE, ASSEMBLY, RESIZING & EMBELLISHING!)
3D letters. I have been perfecting these over time and have made several versions. In this post I share all of my Design Space tutorials on setting these 3D letters and numbers up and resizing them as well as assembly.
Check out my other project posts for some specific numbers & letters I have created for parties/events/milestones.
Tips:
1️⃣- cut the dashed lines so that it’s easier to fold (as opposed to just debossing).
2️⃣- I still go back and forth on this ... but 110# paper is slightly easier to handle ... however you run the chance of the paper not cutting cleanly. And it dulls your blade faster (although good thing we can buy them super cheap on amazon haha).
OFF THE MAT: SELENA
The video tutorials were different this time because each process took many hours. So for the design space tutorial, it was more of a ‘tour’ of what was on my canvas, why I did certain things, and how to work this file. Would love to get your thoughts on this!!!! And the assembly video did not go through the entire process. But trust me when I tell you it took many many hours 🤣😂😆.
OFF THE MAT: JACK & SALLY - NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
💀 Jack and sally - 37 inches x 22 inches of cardstock.
Look at that hair shine! I’m so excited to have discovered a new brand of glitter cardstock - Ground Up Creations! Now for the tips:💀 - at 37 inches they are practically seamless!!! In the video you can see a seam running through her dress. But that will disappear when this is glued to a foam board. It will stay flat and won’t catch the light reflection.
OFF THE MAT: SNOW WHITE & CINDERELLA TODDLERS
I’m getting all sentimental and excited about hitting my one year mark as a crafting YouTuber .... so I wanted to challenge myself and make something as tall as my 5 1/2 yr old. I make cake toppers, iron-on vinyl on shirts, personalize anything and everything ... but i feel like when it comes to off-the-mat characters, I am a legit superstar 😁🤪😂🤣. This toddler Snow White is going to be bananas 🍌 🍌 🍌.
OFF THE MAT: QUEEN BEE - LOL SURPRISE
Queen Bee from LOL Surprise - she is 30 inches straight off the Cricut cutting mat (so nothing has been taped down). The skin color was hard to capture on camera. It’s a golden light brown that I’ve used for Princess Jasmine as well. It’s from Cricut’s Shimmer Paper - Bedazzled Sampler package.
OFF THE MAT: RAINBOW BRITE
Rainbow Brite ❤️💜💚💛💙🌈
She’s 30 inches and just so stinking cute in all her colors.
Learn how to determine the maximum size you can do with minimal seams (which in this case was 36 inches) AND learn how to exceed that and make it an entire foot longer (total of 48 inches - 4 feet high) with the same amount of seams 😍
OFF THE MAT: LADYBUG FROM MIRACULOUS
It's Ladybug from Miraculous! This off-the-Mat Cricut project was sooo much fun and I’m absolutely in love with the final outcome even if I suck at puzzles!! 😂🤦♀️ All cardstock and glitter cardstock !!! ❤️💜💙💚. Perfect for party decor and pretty much that’s it 😂🤣. I’m thinking about making Cat Noir, her sidekick, so Charlotte can carry around with her Halloween costume. .
OFF THE MAT: TOTORO AND FRIENDS
I love doing tutorials and helping someone finish their project. Here is the final outcome (not my work, just my tutorial) — love it!!!! Special thanks to Straws, Sticks & Bricks for the amazing svg files ❤️❤️❤️
OFF THE MAT: REY - STAR WARS
Look at this little badass - Rey from Star Wars! She’s 30 inches of cardstock and stinking adorable ❤️💙💚💛💜🧡
Tips:
1. Do not attempt to do this any smaller than 30 inches. There are too many details (aka little pieces).
2. There are many pieces that need to be modified (unlock to make bigger) in order to weld with another piece. Otherwise you will have even more pieces than you will want to deal with. 😂🤯😬
